Pumpkin pie spice mix is a blend of traditional dessert spices that include (of course) cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves and allspice. Pumpkin itself is a member of the squash family, a North American native that is harvested in the early-to-mid fall. You can keep bulk pumpkin pie spice year round, as these spices are suitable for virtually any kind of dessert as well as some of the more exotic curries and savory Middle Eastern dishes.
There is possibly no better example of a truly "creole" dish than pumpkin pie; spice mix ingredients come primarily from the southwest Pacific islands that make up the nation of Indonesia. Cinnamon, the most plentiful and popular component of pumpkin pie spice mix, is derived from the bark of a species of laurel that is grown primarily in Sumatra and Java; smaller amounts come from China, Sri Lanka and the island of Madagascar. Nutmeg also grows in Indonesia, but is actually the ground seed of a tropical evergreen, as do cloves. Interestingly, allspice (native to the Caribbean) was so named because its flavor combined all three of these flavors.
Ingredients: cinnamon, ginger, allspice, cloves and nutmeg. SALT FREE!

The Broken Spoke company , began as a fabric store In 2015 . At a time when our country is being taken over with big box stores and overseas manufactured items , we saw a need for good quality locally sourced products. We opened in December of 2015, with top quality apparel fabrics and sewing notions, as time went on we found there was also a need for an outlet for locally crafted items. We added a small section of handmade items created by 2 sisters , both with physical disabilities, trying to support themselves! The response was very positive and gradually our collection of handcrafted items grew to include quilts, candles, woodturned bowls , wooden trays and much more!
Fast forward to 2021 , the country is deep into a pandemic and people are going stir crazy needing a way to connect with each other , and how better to do that than over a cup of tea! Yes we have expanded our line of flavored teas and added a full market of herbs and spices . We are not certified organic , but the spices and teas we carry are from an organic facility and are quality controlled to ensure freshness ! If you can’t stop in , you can still order! And it will be carefully packed and shipped right to your door!!
